Large exhibit structures supported by a floor map of New River Gorge suggest the experience of walking up river through the Gorge.

Visitors use Smart Cards at computer stations to learn the effects of pollution
on various natural creatures that live in the Gorge. The Smart Cards can be taken home to remind visitors what they’ve learned, and to encourage them to be more conscious about water as an essential resource.

A three-dimensional model of the viewshed is placed on the patio. Rangers asks visitors to pour water on it to illustrate that “we all live downstream.”
